I also have one on my 661. They protect the tank housing well. And for $26 (when I bought them) they were hard not to try.

They definitely help keep the bottom clean and free from damage. However, where the tabs wrap up and over the rear handle, it rubs somewhat there, and can mark it up. But that could probably be mitigated with some tape or another media.
