We will be going to a paper mill.
You will be getting up on a "wet end crane" to do a full controls mod, or maybe replace some rotted out steel.
It's around 140°Fahrenheit with 100% humidity 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
You will literally breathe in steam with every breath, and you will sweat a steady stream that runs off your elbows and down your legs until it fills your boots and runs out onto the catwalk.
Pay is pretty good. Most dont seem to care about that though.![]()
Some wouldn’t want to be up in the air like that
I’ve been up about 150 feet in what we call a spider pick suspended from a 5/16 cable and it does test you
It’s usually in the 90s or more during a outage and on emergency outages we have to wait to enter the unit until it’s cooled down to 140
I rarely take emergency outages anymore
