I suspected you as one of those guysit’s more of telling them that they shouldn’t try to be a mechanic if you can’t remember a simple screw
I use to rebuild motors and never mark and label the bolts
They all went in the same box
Working on the old *s-word today. View attachment 290523View attachment 290524
Which in turn will result in them crying to the owner and the owner telling me I can't talk to them like that.
I’m redoing some landscaping for a customer this weekend. Should I get before and after pics of it?
That one is a balancing beam that controls the hydraulic rack and pinion that pulls our turbine valves in their sequence on a cam. It’s a balancing beam because it can be overcome by a flyball governor but driven by a governor motor. Strange old allis chalmers stuff. We have a counterweight type control valve here from the original build in the 60s Pat. I'll try and sneak a pic one day for your masty bank.
But I would like to see that old control valve you got. I bet it’s interestingWe have a counterweight type control valve here from the original build in the 60s Pat. I'll try and sneak a pic one day for your masty bank.
Hello, men
Right back at ya lolThanks for reminding me why I would never be capable of working a public job.
Yes. We need pictures. We like pictures.
Plus GFY
Well, I've got the accounts delivered to the accountant.
Tomorrow I'm fully booked, I'm going to prune the trees we have cut down, at least some of them.
Wild weather we have had in southern Norway today, rain, sun, snow, sun, rain, etc., right now it is snowing.
Finding something I will use tomorrow wasn't that easy.
A ported 42 special that needed a little tweaking did not take long before the coil wire failed, so it will not be.
Next was a ported 242G that needed brake flag springs, when I was finally ready to mount the *s-word, the saw had lost the chain tension, it will hardly be that saw tomorrow.
Then I found a 42 that I must have modified, which top end I do not remember, does not sound like a 42, but we will see. Now that it's snowing again, I think it's going to be a G saw anyway, I hate feeling cold on my fingers!
All this hassle of finding something suitable reminds me that battery saws are the future.
Always smart to use them a little, Gary.I’d walk out to the garage, grab my Tree Monkey MS261CM Arctic. It can sit empty for 6 months and all I have to do is add fuel and go.
Good call Steve.
It's a likely spot.
And I was mistaken. The lubies had their way with it 2 days ago. So, zero air filtration in however many miles that was.
That almost
Unfortunately this kind of attitude and approach seem to be the new norm. Not here. Every time they upsell an air filter or the like, they get their name on a ticket for a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card.
Other than getting their tickets pulled from the box, there will be no reprimand.
Other than me telling them what I think of them.
Which in turn will result in them crying to the owner and the owner telling me I can't talk to them like that. It's a revolving door. Happens every couple weeks.
Excuse the gloomy 5am pics bro.But I would like to see that old control valve you got. I bet it’s interesting
but I'm really only guessing. It's been decommed as long as I've worked here.Yeah pretty much
lol Malibu doesn’t have a strong enough bumper lolNot just a Malibu?
Yeah, don't think I mentioned it on here, just last week one of them punted another guy's toolbox through the wall with a Malibu.
Nothing but the finest...
lol your the same wayFixed.
Filter pics ?Good call Steve.

That almost belongs in the filter thread..
it was funny but he wouldn’t go get close up picturesSeriously! FFFS.
lol what’s that supposed to meanI suspected you as one of those guys![]()
Russell. Its 2 miles from the house....hitting Clark’s Hill or Tate?
Yea that’s some cool old *s-word! Your guess is better than mine lol. I was thinking it was an auxiliary air backup mechanism looking for a loss in pressure. Looks similar to what we have for that only ours has a diaphragm and a spring that supply holds against.Excuse the gloomy 5am pics bro.
Best I can work out the small weight acts on the spindle, and if flow drops off the impulse line upstream rises in pressure and maybe acts on the big weight to turn it into a Tight Shut Off,View attachment 290531 View attachment 290532 View attachment 290533 View attachment 290534 but I'm really only guessing.
