Sometime when your car is stuck in the drive and you’re not in a hurry, let the air out of the drive tires until they start to squat pretty good and see. Usually you can drive right out of it

Unless you’re already high centered [emoji107]

When my first son was about a year old, the three of us were headed to town one night and I hit a patch of black ice doing about 55. Did a complete 360 in the middle of the road and kept heading the same direction. The wife and I looked at each other and then back to the road and never said a word.

Nowadays she would’ve been yelling and screaming at me and grabbing my arm and bracing herself

Did you clean your britches out later [emoji15]

Afternoon fullas.
The snow and ice driving tips are awesome. I hope i never need em.
I worked for Bridgestone Firestone for 14 years in various retail roles before going to boil oil. Tire stuff is cool.
We use old tractors, David Brown 990s, Ford 3000s etc to launch boats here a lot. Soft sand and the chevron (V) pattern tires don't go together. The point of the V splits the sand away looking for hard stuff underneath, of which there isn't any of course. But, swap the rim and tire to the other side so it's facing 'backwards' and the sand gets collected by the open side of the V and compacted as it goes toward the centre. Result, major drive and no diggy downy.
Dirtbike tire manufacturers cant agree either. Michelin, no mugs by any stretch, demand high pressures around 15psi to keep the knob in shape to drive it in to the ground. Other manufacturers taking opposite tack and making tires that can be effective at 4-6psi effectively making a short 'track' as the tyre passes over the ground.
More than one way to skin a cat is my point.

Bridgestone, moreover BATO, is where I just spent about 18 hours yesterday.
We repair and inspect their overhead cranes at their Aiken SC ORR(off road radial) plant.

Tire manufacture is an interesting process ay. I'm sure Joe Schmoe thinks they pour hot rubber in one end and a tire spits out the other, which is true except for all the humans who had to cut and lay and place the various steel beads and composite layers necessary to build a car tire up before mechanisation takes over.
