Build the 400 then put a gear vendors overdrive unit behind it. Bam. 6 speed auto. You could even put a low gear kit in it to lower 1st and 2nd by 20% I think. It leaves 3rd the same. Then you can run a taller gear in the rear, still have it out the hole and be able to cruise without screaming.I actually have a 700R.....but its mated to a transfer case. I also have a TH400. If I ditch the computer, a 700R, or the TH400 probably makes sense.

That gives me bad flashbacks from a 1911 International tractorDA old one with the lockup cable that broke sometimes.
I want a flathead with a magneto and a 2 speed powerglide. Dont even need a battery. Just hand crank it if the battery goes dead.
