What trans are you talking? Both the 4l60 and 4l80 have a 2-4 band.

Plow can block air,but I can run all day with my 4l80 never getting over 150 degrees in cold weather. Most of the time barely 100 degrees.
Start plowing, forward, reverse, spin the tires, then it heats up. I will see roughly 180-200 then.

Nothing more to report on. He's been busy, so nothing got painted yet.
How you gonna use that 2-4 band without the forward clutch applied?

Good afternoon guy'sIMG_20210216_110343.jpg
Spent the morning cutting the road down the hill out
Had to wait for the wind to stop blowing
Tree's are full of ice the wind is still
Bad from the storm.

Yes Sir. I can confirm there was plenty of wheel spinning and back and forth that day. I contracted to do a group of apartment buildings and other parking lots that year. Never again. I learned my lesson and now I only plow for myself and a select few others.

I've seen pics that you post of your rig and it's darn nice. All mine have been square bodys or '89-94 gm's. You have me beat in the style department by far.

Have two customs I want to build before I move. '99 3/4 reg cab small block nv4500 and a '89 1ton auto. Prob build a stroker and another 700r for it, if prices haven't gone through the roof. Been a long time since I did a full engine, trans build and frame blasting. Might ot might not happen........

I was asking because you were referring to clutches as c1, c2, c3, etc. GM only refers to them as those in the 6, 8 and 10 speeds, hence my question. The "C" designation makes is easier for scan tool "room".

It's pretty impressive how they can double the speeds in a transmission with fewer actual holding components.

400s were and still are the chit for hard runs and plowing snow imo.
We mostly ran 350 350 packages in a half ton pu for moving snow.
They were dependable and easy... still cheap to fix.
Even the two wheel drive Fords were running 305 350 chevys and one Dodge on a 400 400 Chevy package. Motor chit the bed so George put a built 283 in it and 88's. Back when things were simple, swapped right in and easy to rebuilt.

Putting a decent cast crank 383 in front of a lw assembly built up some was always my preferred method except in trucks. NP top loader is my still my choice till this days if you are going to jump on it with big tires and more than 450ft lbs. They don't break till near 600 when they shear the input.

Chicks dig sticks

GGpa seems like more of an automatic guy for a daily driver.

Yes instead of saying foreword clutch and 3-4 clutch I said c1-c2 as Allison uses in their terminology. Same concept. Input drum has 2 outputs

Um... you never seen one live for years in a big tire street car with a big block rat or blown 440.

Money well spent!
Im not saying they aren't worth the money. Its just surprising how much they went up since I was into *s-worde back in the day. Ive been out of the off-road and fast car scene for nearly 20 years now. Lots has changed.
