hit it with a hammer see if it changes anything
Been in a bunch of them, but its been a while and all were stock rebuilds/repair.
Sun shell is a weak spot, servo and sprag can all be bettered with quality parts though.
How much hp are you planning to throw at it?
I'd be ok with up to 500hp in front of one with good parts inside it, quality torque converter and a good/large cooler.
The planet carriers and one way clutches don’t hold much hotrod torque. The input drum also needs to be upgraded. I’d say big tires are 4x4 with a stroker 500hp is too much for a 4l60 all doable. But by the time you upgraded that. Kinda wish you had a 4l80 to start
You’ll get it done right either way boss I knowDallas......I thought we was friends.
Wow......just wow.
LOL GFY
Not more than 450 - 500.
I've been doing some research. There are good parts available. I'll probably build the one I have.
I'll be running it in a 2wd....
But yes, a 4L80 would be a better starting point. The damn things are pricey though. Then you still gotta build it.
Sorta like the 10 bolt vs the 12 bolt back in the day. One will break the ring gear, the other will break the spiders. Might as well beef up the one you have.
Thats a good idea too.lol im meaning @Slumberjack pat has sensitive hands lol

Sonnax has some good upgrades but you gotta make sure you set the clearances right on the input drum for c1 and c2 or one will drag the other and heat up.Dallas......I thought we was friends.

Awesome glad to see him into stuff like that!I wanted to post a video of Bubba's KX250 running....but I'm not uploading it to YouTube, and I can't figure Dropbox out.
I'm proud of him though. After we reassembled the cases, abs installed the cylinder, I've stepped back and let him finish it. He even rebuilt the power valve by himself.
