the outer dual was on the front when i bought it and i made them switch them to the back so i could drive it home 150 miles
so i need to buy a matching set to put on the front and put the ones on the front back on the rears

Do start or end with your a dik or both?
Been in a bunch of them, but its been a while and all were stock rebuilds/repair.
Sun shell is a weak spot, servo and sprag can all be bettered with quality parts though.
How much hp are you planning to throw at it?
I'd be ok with up to 500hp in front of one with good parts inside it, quality torque converter and a good/large cooler.
I'd say your spot on Ed. The input shaft gives up around 600hp or 520ft lbs
The planet carriers and one way clutches don’t hold much hotrod torque. The input drum also needs to be upgraded. I’d say big tires are 4x4 with a stroker 500hp is too much for a 4l60 all doable. But by the time you upgraded that. Kinda wish you had a 4l80 to start
The planets don't like shock loads and nasty shift kits with little low stall big converters. Back off the banging hard shift and they do just fine. You can add clutches to soften the hit from gear to gear. The 80 shifts like mud imo but it will last longer under a beating. I did not put one in the 97' Z71 5.7 Vortec GMC pu with 3.73's when I broke hard parts backing up a steep hill/driveway with two cords on the car carrier and a face on the truck. I was on it in the mud and it hooked up the front locker on hard pack dirt, new tires 33" MT, boom. Lots of weight there on a very steep incline... all my fault. It had one and three left. No others gears. Drug it up ttt with his tractor to unload it. Replaced with a stock 150K 2000 2500 suburban trans that had the new t-case I did not use. It tows heavy logs sometimes pulling 8K.
No issues 50K on it still bone stock. Trans was rebuilt I do believe. Suburban lost a head gasket and got hammered.

Good. Kinda coasting right now. Over COVID. Got the call from the school today my daughter had close contact. It doesnt change my life too much but I'm bummed for her. Also won't get to hug her for 10 days. She works a lot harder than most of the *dipstick kids her age and that's the first thing she's pissed about missing.

Is Dallas doing any damn thing...been busy here today so I ain’t quite caught up. I’m sure his ass is paid his Sally Struthers, $19.95 dues for his Slack 101 diploma by now.

lol i usually have a ball hitch on anything i drive the lights except the license plate lights are rubber mounted recessed lights and will push in if i would hit something
