Appreciate that. I'm making it up as I go along :D

You got it going on. Just block it up at the rear of the doors as well if possible. I worked with a guy for a while that was really good at that stuff. I tried to learn all I could. I enjoy that sort of thing.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. It's been a slow project for the past 8 years, my interest in it comes and goes. Did most of the bodywork and painted it, but I halfassed the floors, so now I'm fixing the floors, smoothing the firewall a bit, gonna strip the frame bare and build it up with all new suspension stuff. Motor is built sitting on a stand under plastic.

Cut rust out, weld metal in. That's about all there is to it. I gotta cut everything out from pinchweld to pinchweld between the rockers, thus all the bracing.

I need pictures... got a way to draw on photos?

I'm already planning on adding a brace where the yellow line is to prevent any parallelogram action from happening.

Just bolt a box tube brace into your upper front seat belt anchor point. Slice open a square tube and drill a hole in it. No welding required there. Bolt on the tubing so it's going straight down to your bottom cross brace near the corner you made up with boxed tubes, weld it. Then put a top to bottom cross support or an X brace. Triangles keep things rigid and square. Check the doors fit up before you pull out your frame. Hang the doors back on to double check the fit when you tack the floor pan in. Make sure the door seals are in place.

These braces allow you to clip two cars together correctly along with your floor box bracing. Next you cut across the floor and rockers then pull the windshield and saw off the top of your A pillars. Stepping the floor seam going back together makes a strong bond and fast set up or replace the pan. Your right there just like your car is now.

No need for that in your case but it won't hurt none.

I'm just gonna be lifting it straight up and setting it on a couple 4x4s like so-

The bracing I've made is mostly just to make up for what I've cut out of the floor. I still can't visualize what you were describing in your last post. Can you find an example and post a link?

It will look like the makings of a standard roll bar without the top cross tube. You need to keep the car square inside from side to side. Your concerned with front to back. I'm taking about side to side if that helps.

im not sure if he is gonna cut the outer rockers off or not
he said he use to do body work so im sure he has some knowledge of measuring the body of the car

Outer rockers are gonna stay on... probably. Most everything in between will be cut out. I've done a lot of patchwork and refinishing so I'm not afraid to start chopping metal out and I'm definitely not flying blind, but this isn't an afternoon job so I'm always glad to hear ideas from other people who have done it. I'm only lifting it straight up, not trying to turn it on its side or upside down or anything.

I don't think it has much of a way to move side to side with the existing braces and the spots that were reinforced from the factory.

But if it twists itself into a pretzel, I'll blame @dall.

If he cuts out the inner rockers the outers now have no support. It will bow out sometimes from the roof weight pushing down. If it does you skew the area where the quarters come into the door jam. I *f-worded up a few cars. Fitting *s-word up after the fact sucks. More bracing is betterer. Fitting doors to a slightly out of whack door jams really SUCKS!

the braces front to back and side to side will keep it from bowing
the ones at a angle will keep it from getting the front out of line also the windshield and front of the body is helping with keeping it straight
