Is this an old massy?

Yeppers. 1974 175

Should be solid, as long as its got the Perkins diesel.
Harry Ferguson invented the 3 point hitch, so that should be pretty good. Does it have the 2 stage clutch for live PTO? I'm thinkin it should.
Clutch will give your knees he'll if you have to be on it a lot.

Yep. Perkins. Two stage clutch. I hate the clutch and brake pedals on these. I had a 135 for years.....

The seat needs fixed. It bottoms out when you plop down in it. That of course makes the clutch feel even worse.

Plus.....good morning.

The seating position and clutch / brakes are why I'm not a fan of any older, Ford, Ferguson, Massey Ferguson ect. Growing up my dad had several brands and styles of tractors. The ford was the only pain to operate. Im sure other makers had that style as well. Oliver 55 looks similar but I've not driven one.

Hobby stock with street tires. Street stock disappeared overnight when B mods came about plus finding good bodies after cash for clunkers and $240 a ton scrap iron put a dent in the local racing.
that was a *s-wordty idea and a lot about epa regulations from a dictator

This was just cheap horsepower to run some equipment till my JD is fixed. The guy really took good care of it too. I can keep it for a rake/bush hog tractor without feeling like I spent too much on it.

The 135 I had hurt my knees when my brother in law owned it. Back when I was 25 years younger. By the time I got it, using it all day was tough.

dew was on and I drift started the tractor because the starter was out and couldn’t get the tractor stopped after starting
Went through a 4 strand fence and didn’t touch the bottom 2 strands

got it stopped in the hayfield but flat spotted the front rims
Bent the front axle down and back
And broke the mowing machine on the back
The axle had to be taken to a machine shop to get straightened

I hear you. You gotta have a tractor and the price was right. For a hogging tractor where clutching might not be frequent, it would be ideal once you get the seat sorted oot.
