I started with all Angus. Then we started running two bulls. An Angus, and a Hereford. The Angus was beginning to get older, and sorta mean, so we sold him. At the time Black Baldie (Angus/Hereford cross) calves were selling for more than straight Angus, so it was a smart move. The reason for the higher price is that the Baldie hybrid grows faster. Now we have too many red calves, because we are breeding Black Baldies back to a Hereford bull. That's the reason we are going back to an Angus bull. The Angus over the red cows will also make a Baldie. And likely will with the Baldie cows too.

Sounds like a lotta complicated bull talk to me 😝

lol.

Good morning slackers. I’m up early - mind won’t quit trying to align everything I need to do to get the tire situation taken care of, as well as the logs, and weather, etc. So, busy day ahead - hopefully I can get a tire by tomorrow. I’ve heard it can take a couple weeks to get forestry tires 😳 If that’s the case, I’ll have to resort to Plan B.

Wrapped up my work week with a pretty light night. Definitely welcomed because the rest of the week I’ve been busy. Gotta put brakes on my wife’s car this afternoon. Basketball game for my son this evening.

I hope to buy a couple cows this spring when I get enough grass to keep them alive.

What is the end goal with the cows Justin? Meat? Breeding? Milking?

Good morning guys,
no big plans for the day other than finding the missing parts. My memory is terrible, I don't remember where I put things.
Maybe I should mount the winch on the tractor since the weather is great for logging ahead.
