Started the day at 33°. Guessers are saying up to an inch of ice Sunday night and several days of single digits at night. Can't wait. We get the ice, then power will be dodgy. Wood heat, gas water heater, gas cook stove and can run the well pump off generator.

I’ve heard that a nasty storm is supposed to hit middle America this weekend. Sounds like you’re setup to survive. Keep safe down there, Tony.

Yeah, it's kinda nice I have a job where I can work from home.😂 If it happens we will get the safety speech from the desk jockeys about not taking chances, blah, blah, blah. They just need to hope we can get to work if it is that bad out. Snow is not a problem usually, but ice changes everything.

Good morning guys,
I'm going to continue organizing where I have used and projects lying around.
When I started I found a 339xp project too.
The day I get a little more roof over the barn, I'm going to have a little workshop in there, it's going to be fine with workbenches and some room.

Freezing rain / ice sucks no matter what state you live in. We’re fortunate here in MN most years that we don’t get much. But we do sometimes get ice accumulation of 1/4-1/5” occasionally, and it causes lots of problems here too.

Luckily I can make the decisions when I leave the building and they know not to question my judgment on a safety issue. Line workers like @full chizel are the ones who need people worrying about them. Unless I have medicine there is not a whole lot in my truck that will cause a catastrophic meltdown. No power means no heat for most folks and cold kills more people than heat. Throw in some energized lines in slick and icy situations and things can go downhill fast.
