Literal translation for waka would be canoe, but hardly any of us use a canoe day to day so it's become the word for any form of transport.

In all seriousness, props for your reply. One more person in the world looking into our native language, one more chance of it surviving.

Morena e hoa. Good morning friend.

It might be boring, repetitive, formulaic even, but i mean it.
Polynesian languages are beautiful to listen to, imo. Such great flow.
As an opera singer I had to learn to sing and pronounce 8-10 languages. Still only speak English but I picked up a few phrases in 30 years :p

Growing up only a little over an hour from Grand Forks AFB, we were very well schooled on the B-52 Bombers. Our airport was even designed to that it could be an alternate landing/fueling station for them. We knew if the Russkies pushed the button we were gone in the first wave.

I grew up on SAC bases

B-52 music was my lullabies

My son sent some pics of some B-52s at Elmendorf AFB a short while back, I guess tensions were running hot and they were up here for a show of force

I may have said this back then but I will repeat what I told him

Since no new B-52s were built since the early 60s and since his grandfather was the Chief of Flightline Maintenance in 3 different SAC bases, despite the fact that he retired in 1967, there was every chance that his grandfather had been in and worked on those very same B-52s

That blows my mind

We have a few amish groups here. No complaints, they’ve never been nothing but good to me. Saw a couple of nice looking young ladies walking down the road the other day. That I must say is very rare! Lol

We have Amish here too. We buy from them weekly. They run a great grocery store. They have always been very nice people.
