Not my truck but this is a cool pic from the tree service that we hire at work. That old red oak was over 5 foot across. We had it removed because it had some lightning damage and was getting quite hollow at the base.View attachment 441884
So, that's where the transmission gave up?

Let's see a load like that on your Dodge there Jocko....

Fair enough you win. I don't haul firewood here, or very rarely do I have to.

A few of the local tree company's dump all the wood I want, in a dump truck or dump trailer.

Works well for both of us, they save landfill fee's, I save them chasing around the county an hauling it here.

I have pics of other crap I've hauled.

what the hell did you do to the buck
Being that the buck was young, and it’s neck wasn’t swollen up, the cape wasn’t worth keeping. So I cut right up through the neck to remove as much of the windpipe as possible. We always try to remove the windpipe when we can, as that’s often overlooked, and begins to sour the surrounding meat immediately while hanging.

If I were taking the deer to the taxidermist, or selling the cape, I would have stopped at the rib cage.

Edit: the cape must measure 26” or larger on the flesh side to be worth selling.

Actually looks easier than reaching up in the cavity to cut stuff loose. And safer…sliced muhself a little yesterday.image.jpg
