the chain finished the cut…barely haha. not quite as trashed as i thought it would be honesty, we’ve found rocks and concrete before and that seems to be way more destructive on chains.
A few weeks ago I stumped a few trees for an older fella. First three went off without a hitch. The fourth one had a couple stones in the tree that I hit....I ended up throwing the chain away.

yep ive tried to file it out before but usually it wipes out enough of the corner and top plate that its just a waste of time. i lost two near new 28” chains on one tree this spring.
