My son wanted a rifle before he gets out of the service, asked him what he wanted, said either a 7mm magnum or a 300 winmag. Asked him why, he said to hunt with. Deer, sheep, speed goats. Asked if blind hunting or stalking, he said stalking. Talked him down to a 270 win, then picked him up a 6.5 creedmore due to ammo availability. I already reload for 270. The 270 is a tikka t3 lite and the 6.5 is a savage something. Glad I got the reloading components when I did. Got lucky once again. We will get them dialed in right before deer season. I did shoot the creedmore, that wears a vortex scope. He bought a leupold for the 270. Will let him mount that and dial it in. Going to be a great year, we miss him. Only seen him 3 times in the last 13 years.
I’m sure the savage is an axis like the one I got my son. I just don’t see any advantage to the 6.5 over the 7m-08 for our area. Within 200 fps muzzle velocity pushing 140’s and 1/2” difference in drop at 500 yards. I love my 700 ss in 7mm mag. Bought it at 14 and my uncle who’s a gun dealer got it for me said the 7mm mag doesn’t kick to hard and will kill anything in North America in case i never bought another rifle. Of course that didn’t happen, put a 4-12 leuipold gold ring on my 7mm to replace the 3x9 burris

110 actually, with threaded barrel in case he ever wants to put a can on it. Not much difference in ability from 243 to 308 on North american non dangerous game. Shot placement and bullet selection make the most difference.

They slack in everything except the billing dept. All of a sudden, they have more than enough personnel on hand. Lol
After seeing the lady doctor today, I'm not going to be getting a scope. She said as long as the Omeprazole was keeping me from having heartburn or acid reflux, just keep talking it. The only reason I went was because my regular doctor was concerned that I'd been taking Omeprazole for 15 years. Stomach doctor said at the dosage I'm taking, it ain't a problem. So.....

Just wasted part of a day for nada.

We baled hay today too. Just a few bales. A roller bearing went out in the baler when I was almost done. Luckily, we had the bearing, and it wasn't hard to change....
I got a square baler last week that jumped time and has been sitting outside for 7 years.i finally got it timed and run about 10 bales thru it today but I've got a feeling when it goes in the field there's gonna be bearings and chains coming apart.

15yrs? Dang…every day?
Singers tend to live on that stuff but my doc tried to ween me off. Retired from the opera 3 yrs ago and only need meds every now and then. I was at 40mg/day.

Well it has been a day here. Had class in the morning. Got home, did a set of front brakes for my uncle, came back out to the grandpa Buick barfing transmission fluid all over the driveway. 90% sure the dipstick tube grommet let loose. Too irritated to look at it any closer.

My dad got home from work and reported that the brakes I put on his car on Tuesday are making a noise when making a left turn without the brakes applied. I looked it over and I believe the wheel bearing is going out and causing the pads to make contact with the rotor when turning. He also has an exhaust leak that needs fixed, and it's getting increasingly rusty underneath. I just put control arms on it last month, and it's due for inspection next month. I told him with these constant repairs, it may be time to start looking for a replacement, which I hate to say about a car that's not even 10 years old.
