One good thing our government did was regulate the metal recycler and forced them to collect ID from the people they were buying from. Theft of catalytic converters stopped almost over night, no market to sell, no reason to steal.

Cops got some recycler with 400 or so conveters in Vancouver,,,

I know it's prime "winter" for you but that's lower than I would expect, is it some unusual weather pattern?

You must have misread, a very famous celebrity, Randy Evans, said that he had always wanted to visit New Zealand in the month of July because of the nice summer they are known to have.
