Here you see the sumac turn red and the poplars begin to go yellow first.
Sumac turns early for us as well, but I omitted them on the sense that I don’t consider them a “tree”. But that’s certainly nothing scientific, just my opinion.
Last to turn are tamarack, red oak and aspen
Same here. Very few tamarack in this area though.

Yeah, not really a tree, just something that changes colors with the season. That stuff spreads like crazy.

Become debt free and all that can be yours. I have a buddy that makes more money than I do, and will have to work until he is dead. He spends every cent he makes and doesn't have two nickels to rub together. I have been blue collar, albeit skilled blue collar, and retired at 51. I am working to cure boredom, and shoring up my assets so the kids have more when I am gone. It helps that the wife and I share the same goal. It all comes down to choices that we make.

Good morning all, happy hump day.
Lots of factors come into play here as far as 'retiring' goes...inheritance money no one ever mentions, property assets willed or given to them, living off other people half to three quarters their lives (insert freeloading here), VA disability tax-free money if applicable, social security disability, etc, etc, etc. The list goes on for miles.

Agreed. I can’t remember if they considered it invasive here, but I’m pretty sure it is. It’s certainly vibrant when it turns each fall. It’s mostly along road ditches here, not too many places have I seen it in the middle of a land tract.

Brother I have been a hard charging electrical worker for 33 years. Done tree work, line clearance, lineman for powerco and telco, residential, commercial, utility and solar. No way I would take the easy road. Been saving my whole life. So thanks for the suggestion, but I think I've got it covered.

why is it your responsibility to take care of them so they have it easier after you die ?
where are they when you need help with the hay or building fence ?
kinda looks like you are babying them more

if you are working a regular job then you are not completely debt free
a person is never debt free unless they have no bills coming in and grow a garden and butcher their own food

i know people who retired early and never worked a away from the house job ever again

@GCJenks204 what kind of kayaks did you purchase? My 7yr old hopped in one yesterday, without any instruction, and took off like he’d been using it for a year. He loves it.
We bought some made by Pelican that Costco had for cheap, they are 10ft ones. I was checking some out at Fleet Farm when we were in Fargo and they had similar ones for in USD more than we paid in CAD. Not sure what the import tariffs are on them as they are Canadian made but I was shocked that they would be 40-50% more in the USA but then I should be too surprised, some lighting that we sell is the same price USD down there as it is CAD up here thanks to import tariffs imposed by a former president.
