I've arrived at the conclusion that FedEx is the most worthless of all shipping companies on this planet.

That includes your generic home based food delivery services....and your local crack dealer.
Perpetual chitty customer service is a force multiplier

Tuesday I cut hay, went to start the deutz tractor, nothing! Solenoid on the starter failed, bypass the solenoid and starter spins, but the solenoid engages the Bendix. Ugh. Found one online with two day delivery. Shipped from Roanoke VA via UPS. Got it Thursday at 10:00am. Was able to fix starter and get hay baled before it rained. So UPS for me.

DHL isn't far behind. Of the five or so international packages I've had get lost over the years, four were with DHL.

AC-130J Ghostrider gunship been cruising the flightline perimeter for an hour or so...know no IFE came across with the MOC so I guess he just burning onboard fuel/external tanks so he can land. Prob came out of Hurlburt Field, FL I would imagine and what the destination was, who knows...they don't discuss that kinda classified *s-wordt wif us.

Little fact for you aviator wanna-be's out there...only 30 AC-130 gunships of older and newer variant configurations remain on the active rolls. I believe there were 37 or 38 in active service up until last year. Dats yer Congress and defense appropriations for ya.

That is because they have an even bigger bird with two 105's on board, also equipped with phalanx.

I have been lied to, the ghost rider is the latest. My bad

Are you referring to the stretched 'J' model...or what bird do you speak of? The 130 gunship platform is going nowhere in the near future...we'll perish before it and/or the A-10 for that matter ever disappear from service. They'll finish the retrofit for cruise missile capability on all J models in the not too distant future.

No, I heard from a less than knowledgeable person that the air force had a larger platform than the c130 to fill that role. My froogle-fu was unable to turn it up anywhere, so I was misled. I defer to you on this subject. I am somewhat out of the loop.

Both the ac130 and the a10 are invaluable as long as we have air superiority. Both are sitting ducks when we don't though.

I'm unaware of anything out there as a different platform replacement. I do remember in a Popular Mechanics or Popular Science mag a long time ago about some article and artist rendered sketch of a replacement but I think that was simply filling magazine pages with some Jetson's looking BS. The 'J' designated Ghostrider model iterations are the latest greatest, as well as the 'W' designated Stinger II iteration models. Both have the newest US Navy/Air Force collaboration M105 (GAU) Howitzers to replace the old M102 Howitzers. All other firepower remains the same...30mm Bushmaster II cannons, etc, etc.
