It's a dismal outlook, Larry.
Even going to the training center in the Chicago burbs I'm still most often the youngest guy there or close to it.
In 15 years i have no clue where the industry will be unless something changes, but I have no clue what it is that needs to change to get people interested in this line of work.

For one the young and upcoming kids could start caring about normal things again like engines , fixing stuff etc instead of colouring their nails or computer games. Will create hard times which might create strong men once again. Not sustainable much longer the way it’s going

We have the same problem Ed, not many below 30 have any interest in any trade. They just want computer jobs. They are implementing remote troubleshooting for some of the stuff we work on. But the payment industry does not allow remote access to point of sale equipment. Oh well, I will always be able to fix my stuff. Maybe just a disposable society is next.

Just picked up special cut keys from our door supplier. Young kid waited on me. 8 painted black fingernails and 2 red ones. WTF is happening to the youth of America? I don't get it.

I tend to always have one fingernail painted black courtesy of a missed hammer blow or pinching it somewhere.

Liking the sun as well, to bad it so frequently frequently leads to a deep freeze this time of year. Took a drive yesterday starting 8am it was +22 (few lingering clouds) and by 10:30am was down to +4 a bit NW (near Fergus Falls) of where we started. BUT it was SUNNY.
