They where used in alot of different trucks manufacturers and industrial machinery applications. They have been around for a long time. The fugged up shift pattern gives them away. My first experience was in a Chevy C60 dump truck in the seventies 427 2sp rear. Always broke the air compressor bracket bolts off on that bish. LOL

Must be a tough mfer then.

Yes they can handle a lot. Mine is a typical H pattern 4 speed without Reverse.. Forward/Reverse in my skidder are selected in the transfer case by another lever... My top cover needs to be replaced, as the pins no longer keep the stick in line for shifts, but I can still find all the gears. They are a durable transmission.

The transmission I have has granny to the left and up. 1 - 4 in a normal H pattern, then reverse is to the right and up.

That’s not a fun job

Sent from the Hoskey Hills
Not by myself, no. With another set of hands we can usually get them straightened and tightened in 30-45 mins per tire. I’ve got 30 more clevis’ here and want to change some of the old ones out today as well - I’ll be taking my time. At least I can tighten then easily with my Milwaukee 1/2” impact rated for 1000 ft lbs - makes quick work.. Seems that no matter how tight, they always move though.

That sounds like a great combination in a heavy duty pickup situation. A GearVendor Over Drive behind that would make for nice cruising on the highway, and also split the gears for more capacity in heavy hauling as well.

Back in the 90's the bar tenders never cut you off, they would tell you to belly up and have another, and at last call the bar tender sold almost everyone a 12 pack for the ride home.

Then the DNR cop thought he could chase you down a bearcat55o with a blinking yellow light on his sled, while you were on a skidoo or polaris triple cylinder sled.

I remember one night we left the silver dollar in hurley at closing time, we were all tuned up (plus we all had our trail beers for the ride back) state patrol & DNR tried at almost every road crossing from hurley to eagle river to get us, we tagged back north, the sun came up, we were almost to copper harbor in the UP.

I'm glad we never ran out of talent and none in my crew ever died..... wild times back then for sure.
We need more reality shows that depict "great times" like that. I had a few back in my younger years and thank God I survived them!

Looks like a solid rig Randy.
Almost too good to part out.
Maybe an OBS seat in it?
Dont know. No power lumbar support buttons, but I dont know if they all had that or not.

I need that cab on the 7.3 truck. The rear half of the frame will go to make my 83 longer. I have a steel bed for it that is too long for a short wheelbase truck. I think we will use the 5 speed in it too.

Sounds like some good projects to keep Bubba busy for a while.

I’ve out run a few cops and DNR on the Yamaha SRX 700 i had.

The UP was so much fun, we were mostly over by Manistique.
