Did you get that 460 repair done Larry?
A nice little dump trailer might be an option for that truck. Then that dump body on your truck won't beat ya up when you take the wife out on her yearly supper run.
Not yet Tim, it is on the list. Finishing my building first, seems I am slow at my age. Will be done before I need it done. I have been using the k1500 for wood. So no rush. Good memory.

Should be right up the Generals most elite, hand model tech!!
Sorry Boss, meant to quote ya.

I believe I have it sorta figured out. Looking at mating the NP540 to a 460. I believe if it's on an FE now, it can be fitted to the 460 too.

From the 50s to the 80s.

I "think" GM only used those in the medium duty trucks.
We were not a medium duty dealer, but...we do still have a pile of old service manuals up above the parts dept.
I'll dig around and see if there's any manuals that list those.

I'm just trying to learn a bit about it. I think I'm gonna use it in my 83 model.

They where used in alot of different trucks manufacturers and industrial machinery applications. They have been around for a long time. The fugged up shift pattern gives them away. My first experience was in a Chevy C60 dump truck in the seventies 427 2sp rear. Always broke the air compressor bracket bolts off on that bish. LOL

They have I think a 55mph speed limit now.
The drunks were running out of talent at triple digits and they got tired of picking up body parts from remote areas.

Back in the 90's the bar tenders never cut you off, they would tell you to belly up and have another, and at last call the bar tender sold almost everyone a 12 pack for the ride home.

Then the DNR cop thought he could chase you down a bearcat55o with a blinking yellow light on his sled, while you were on a skidoo or polaris triple cylinder sled.

I remember one night we left the silver dollar in hurley at closing time, we were all tuned up (plus we all had our trail beers for the ride back) state patrol & DNR tried at almost every road crossing from hurley to eagle river to get us, we tagged back north, the sun came up, we were almost to copper harbor in the UP.

I'm glad we never ran out of talent and none in my crew ever died..... wild times back then for sure.
