Afternoon meat Muppets.
Spent most of the day getting the water back on for the boy.
Pressure switch line froze, then the stupid pump lost prime.
I hate jet pumps.
Thinking he will have to upgrade to a submergible soon. I hope so...
My last house had a jet pump and cistern tank. Cistern was gravity fed by a spring 6 miles up on the side of the mountain.
It was probably state of the art in 1947. But in 2004 not so much.
It worked fine if you used lots of water and kept it flowing. I did not use enough water thou, and the line would fill up/plug up with silt, and water would stop flowing. Seems like I had to back flush the system a few times a month to keep the water flowing, or if I would forget to, then the cistern was empty. It always seemed to run out at the worst time, all soapy in the shower ready to rinse off, boom out of water.
Then is was load the poly 500 gallon tank in the truck, head to town to fill it. Drain the water in the cistern tank, prime the pump, back flush the system, drive up on the side of the mountain on a goat path, wait for the water to flow clear, head back down the hill reverse everything, and hope you had clear water flowing back down the hill into the tank.
It was kinda of PITA. I burned up 3 jet pumps in 10 years.
