Kerosene works well also.
Thankfully, they dont bother me.
Just kind of a warm feeling once the initial ouchy wears off.
I've been stung twice on the hand by Scorpions.
That's the REAL DEAL!
Not only is it painful, the swelling is insane!
I live in the middle of nowhere (30 miles to nearest Hospital) & my RN nurse sister told me on the phone, she hoped I wasnt allergic to the sting?
Wait...What?
Allergic?
I didnt sleep AT ALL that night after the first sting!
Luckily I'm not allergic.

I moved a bee hive from inside a building (full of bees) out into the sun. Those mfers were pissed. They stung me thru my gloves....and managed to get up my pant leg into my bee suit. Only 5 or 6 stings on this hand.

Evening all. Got the old Detroit harvester sickle mounted on the TO-20, lubed it up and took it out for a test cut after adjusting the ledger gaps. Cut the previously mowed orchard nicely. Will try it on hay soon I think, if I can trust the guessers, which we all know I can't!

Swelling from a sting is something I get too. Had a dumbo ear for a day once. Maybe I could get a strategic sting, you know, for growth. Lol

Which one of you Dodge boys were in Beaver Dam today? Just missing the swamp donkeys and tow mirrors.

Not me but I like the truck but not the pipes
Mine will have dual stacks when I put a flat bed on it but they will be inside the body not on the outside

Baking soda and water huh Adam? I'll try that.

It wasn't dark.

Usually it's better to mess with them in the hottest part of the day. The most of them should be out foraging.

Yep.

Still grinding.

If I banned everyone who deserved it, I'd be here all alone.

Need a zap-it
Google it

Luckily I'm not allergic.
Been scorpion stung once that I can recall.
We have the small brown ones down here.
Was in a tarp I was covering my little boat with. Got me between the thumb and forefinger of my left hand.
Thought it was a wasp when it happened.
Thankfully, no adverse reactions.
It seems I'm only allergic to EVERYTHING that is a plant of ANY kind.

Poison oak/ivy doesnt seem to be too bad for me, but ANY pollen from most trees and grasses just makes for a miserable time.
Eyes will water and swell.
Respiratory problems are what sucks.
I just cant breath right anymore until June or July.

Problem with that is that it may LOOK impressive, but you can't do much with it.;)
Maybe take pictures for bragging rights.:D

2 things scorpions like...
Rock houses (the heat they retain after the sun goes down)...
Wood piles, (lots of prey seek safety in wood piles).

Both my stings were when I was asleep in bed!

They can climb anything including ceiling & drop down on you.
They detect & are attracted by movement (vibrations).

I started spraying Ortho Home Defense in the house after that (I killed 2 shortly after my experience) & haven't seen a single one since.
It works!
I havent seen a scorpion in 2 years!
