Hit HD… got twin 20lb bags of Kingsford on sale. Got the last 6 twins they had…wasn’t sticking around for them to pallet jack another load in. $16 a twin nowadays with mil discount. The good ol’ days of $9.98 a twin 20lb bag which lasted for many years, exited stage left about four years ago or so around these parts…that’s when I used to hook up one of the utility trailers and have it forklifted onto the trailer…buy the entire pallet. Is what it is nowadays…if ya gotta have it, ya gotta have it.

So.....gathering 460 parts.

So far I have the proper exhaust manifolds to put it in my truck. The correct bellhousing, spacer plate, clutch throw out lever, and the ball mount for the clutch linkage. I also have gotten an Elgin camshaft and lifter set that was designed for a fleet of garbage trucks where low speed torque was needed more than anything else.

I was looking at getting a Edelbrock intake for till I watched this video. The first few minutes are applicable to the 460 Ford. Since watching this, I found a late 60s 429 intake for it.

I courted my wife on a 1948 8N.

I've got a JD1120, a 2640, and the Massey 175.
Speaking of 100 series Masseys, on Saturday myself and my friend collected the MF135 used by a school I'm involved with for mowing the playing field. I sold the tractor to the school about 14 years ago, and it's provided sterling trouble free service ever since, but now has very bad blowby, and pressurizes the crankcase so badly that it pushes most of the oil out the breather and every seal/orifice it can.

Dad and I got stuck in and got it split Saturday afternoon:

And by yesterday afternoon I'd found the problem. As diagnosed, broken compression rings on one cylinder. These little Perkins AD3.152 diesels are sure tough, I'm surprised it actually still ran!

Worn right through the liner in one place! Parts are stupidly cheap, so it will be fully rebuilt, ready for another 50+ years of work.

KingSford charcoal briquette's were made by Henry Ford with the leftover wood scraps from building the Model T.

Precursor to the strike to light Pinto.
GM must have then adopted some of that technology to use in their self igniting electric vehicles.

That flat tabletop torque from 2500 to 4500 should make for a good work truck ay. Would you want to rev it any higher?
