Was on the way out the door to take Elliott to school and head to the office and the phone rang.

Elliott was a close contact, can't come to school today. Administered a Rapid Test at home and it was negative. Now waiting to hear what the return to school plan looks like. How many days does he have to stay home.

Depending on local ordinances, all of the days.

Seriously...

Morning men. 19 driving in, may raise a few degrees today. Some snow all day. The wind had some teeth walking across the parking lot this morning. Keep it square.

10 days isolation for him. Mom and I are fully vaxxed so don’t need to isolate. He can go back to school next Tuesday as long as no symptoms develop.

Is he old enough to hang out at home or do one of you get a 10 day staycation too?

He's only 9 so can't be left alone. Tamara is full time work from home so not a huge inconvenience but still a pain. Keeping him occupied without his face in a screen all day will be a challenge.

Well I guess it may get pretty farking deep around here. Glad I went and rounded up some last minute wood to add to the hoard. Gonna come in handy.
I’m keeping a tunnel open so I can get to the dogs and keep them cleaned up but the lightning keeps popping right around the crib...1/2 second count before the thunder rolls.

This is your first winter on this house right? Any input from the locals is this is normal or extraordinary? That was some pretty quick accumulation for sure.

Here we already have more on the ground than all last winter and March is usually our time of greatest accumulation.

It's our second winter, Gary. This particular area gets lake effect but from the sea. We have a massive storm that came down from Russia/Moldova/Belarus areas.

It stayed out over the sea and gathered up some of our rather warm sea water and dumped in on us in the form of the white stuff. We're seeing snow on some islands that very rarely do.

In the 19/20 winter the village here had 2 meters of snow in a really short while. I've heard in '87 they had to drop food from helicopters the snow was so deep.

Had a Dr’s appt late this morning so hauled ass from work ‘bout 10-ish. No intake of anything this morning makes a damn Jarhead angry, grumpy, and more important…hungry as hell. So, three Subway foot-longs it is…two steak and cheese and one chicken/bacon all loaded wif the goodies for $17.99.
