Proof that @Woodrow aka Big Dan, aka Big Dan Teague, aka Dallas of the Northwoods can haul Ash if he really wants to.

Always a pleasure when you come visit.
I'm plumb whooped, but still enjoyed the BS session and thinking of how nice that other half of lunch would be about now...

That was nice of him. Dallas of the Northwoods is one heck of a guy.

Little late getting a few things done today and took down that 25-30 ft, triple trunk Bartlett pear tree in the backyard but it’s just about grocery time now.

Hated to take it down but damn I was tired of dealing with all the pears every year…and like most fruit trees they just make a damn mess in the yard, attract flies, fruit flies, wasps, yellow jackets, to no damn end. Had folks that used to come by and get as many 5-gal buckets full of the pears they wanted to make pear relish, etc and they kinda petered out over the years, so I permanently handled the problem today. I’m keeping all the big pieces and big limbs, will split/cut it up, let it season and use it for smoking wood.
Just a head's up, Bartlett pear does not equal pear. I thought the same thing about using it to smoke meat. It has an acrid bite that you cannot ignore with the light meats you'd use pear for. Beautiful color to it and awesome firewood though...

Evening/morning all. Finally crash landed at the pad after a crazy 36 hours.

I’ve used well seasoned, bark-less pieces/chunks several times over the years and never had any problems with it on ribs, butts, whole birds, etc.
