Here’s a little 411 that I didn’t know. Yesterday evening was the first time I’ve ever seen two great horned owls together, yet I’ve seen a hundred of ‘em in my lifetime. First thought was it’s gotta be breeding time, and looking for that ho with wings. Read a little on Wiki…it’s their ‘courtship’ time right now Oct thru Dec, looking for something to breed come around Dec/Jan timeframe, so I guess peckers with wings are on the hunt now.

This is prob typical of Dallas’ breeding activity as well.

And the big one was probably the female. They are larger than the males according to this raptor rehabilitation center we took a great horned owl too that needed some help.

Yep, the gals are the larger of the two.

Little A-hole always wants to pull, so I dug out a harness I thought would almost fit from when we had our Malamutes.
He didn't like it at first, but after a minute and some treats we did a bunch of laps around the yard.

Yeah, that one pic was right after I tied the sled to the harness.
He wasn't a happy camper at the point in time for sure.
