So my nephew just found out he might be loosing his job because the owner of the business he works for was doing some tree work around his house, took a tree to the face, has to have plastic surgery and may have Brain damage.

Thats not good [emoji856]

The business is underground sprinkler design, installation and repair. The boss man tree accident unrelated.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope the boss man isn't too bunged up.

Years ago we were breaking in a new guy at the logging company I worked at - He'd been an engineer in the military but had
never cut timber before (he was in his late 30's). A few months after he got going - he was cutting a large Pacific Madrone
(western hardwood) and it rolled while coming down and he got pinned between that tree and a standing Doug Fir.
I helped evacuate him out to the ambulance. It didn't crack his skull but came damn close (his hardhat looked like an accordion)
but he was never the same and never worked in the woods again.

Uh huh.
Once you gets em fixted, they aint bad, and the 05-07 aint hard to look at either.
Takin this one to the local Ford diesel guru. Under 150k mi, egr cooler second time. It’s my cousin’s she wants $7k as is. I need a crew cab toe rig…C97CC5EC-541C-4A6B-B476-F2A6B2F20D36.jpeg

Always had Cummins 12 valves but can’t get em in a crew cab with getting crazy custom. We have a 7.3 and 6.0 at work…much prefer the 6.0.

Intake gaskets were more from the bolts loosening up and expansion/contraction. I'd bet the corner bolts were loose.
The new gaskets with the steel inserts solved the problem.
Head gaskets, well, that was more likely poor cleaning of the blocks after casting and machining. That combined with the Dexcool made sludge.
Still use Dexcool and now that we are out of the 1990's, we don't see any issues like we did then, but I could be wrong.

Been a while, all I remember is snapping exhaust manifold bolts and throwing tools across the garage.

I use dexcool in cars that call for it. Like you said, I don't see any issues like when it first rolled out.
