Was out mowing more multi flower and small locust trees and it quit mowing so thought I’d sheered the bolt. Took cover off sheer bolt ok
Went home to shop and it seems like the gearbox is locked up [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]
Oil level ok so a bearing must have took a chit. I guess I will be taking it off and rebuilding it [emoji35]

Well.....no. I was trying to save a few bucks. I'll go stand in the corner now.
Aint even liking that. Starter AND water pump.
You know better.
And then put a stupid POS Chubby alternator on it.
Ford put the regulator over on the fender where it would stay cool for a fugging reason Randy.:hello:
Get burned, get learned.

Yeah, but only a very special few have tried to build an engine on a tight budget and re-used a water pump that subsequently blew apart in a flash dyno cell and cost $100 an hr to mop up and change as well as being charged out at retail.....:(
Again.
Education.
Worth every penny.
Learned that more than once.

Nor have I.

Well the truck is like 38 years old.....so.
Oh fer fuggs sake...
Really?
Last time I had a motor out, I wasnt thinking about how much money I could save.
I was thinking about how much I DIDNT want to crawl my fat stupid arse under there later and replace that, instead of while it was taken apart and RIGHT FUGGING THERE and easy to get to.
I mean, I keep a tally of how many times I have to bend over or get on the ground these days.
Fella reaches a certain level of fatness that requires outside assistance when these things occur.:(
Mobile cranes are EXPENSIVE.:)

I really wasn't in a position to be doing such a project Brent. Had not long started my first job out of uni with Firestone on the princely sum of $13/hr.
My Improve Everything sickness kicked in and I started building a 4.1 alloy head 6 for my Fairmont Ghia. Motors a relative of @Steve s 300 and the mighty Barra. Machining long block and porting the head sucked up all my cash, and traveling over 300 miles every spare weekend to work on it kept it that way.
Turned out good, but a Cleveland woulda turned more heads than a warm 6 did.
Sold it a couple of years later to buy an 89 RS Legacy. Never looked back. AWD Turbo, yes that covers ground rapidly thank you.
