Good evening Tim. I'm doing good. Loading up to go out of town for a few days. Where I grew up just about everyone had a 70's Ford. Heck you go back to the town, and they are still all over the place. Learned how to drive in one. 4 speed with granny gear. Good old trucks, and quite capable off road. I could go on and on. Pretty cool my oldest got a 1973 F100 4x4.
Montana or Idaho is my plan to look for a clean one. Northern CA is on my radar now. I've loved more than one 78/79 Ford.

I dated and married down. No regrets. I have a couple great kids with her. My son is dating a girl similar to what you did. Girl is 19 driving a Lexus SUV. Parents are a fishing lure company. He likes better music than I did so he has a shot.
I didn’t do what I ‘did’ by design back in those days. Just a young ass male who fell in love with a HS sweetheart...hence all these yrs later...a 29 yr old Navy son, and a 22 yr old college graduate Nursing School daughter. It eventually worked out this way...and I’m happy for both...it’s been very costly, and I wouldn’t have it no other way. I’ve lived some crazy *f-wording yrs under my belt with that Marine Corps stuff...and took its toll, sadly...on my marriage. Buts it’s ok...and the lesson learned is where I’m at today...good, bad, different, indifferent. We shine as best we can! Its the only decent thing we got...we shine as best we can through everything.

I’m proud of you young man. You keep that family together...come hell or high water.

I failed in my one and only attempt to do the same...and I missed a lot of great teenage yrs with my kids at home...I went to all their games in Mid School, in HS. Don’t *f-wordk up like I did...

Discussed it, he's busier than a one armed paper hanger, took a month just to get the parts to try. So a new one shall be gotten and the world will keep on turning. But... I really wanted to know what der furk was up with that thing. After having all the parts on, including several plugs @Dream and two new coils gapped with Stihl tool, I was in disbelief. At one point I could get a faint blue/red spark one time and that was it. Nothing that would work on a Factory spark checker per the Stihl manual.
Dat is REALLY weird. I'm sure you unhooked the kill switch lead from the coil and tried that. Made sure ground lead wasnt varnished over and grounded to coil(that got me once), etc.
No reason it shouldnt spark, unless they sent a bad coil.
