No it has the Chrysler 8.25 rear which has the shortest drive shaft of any of the XJ's. Makes the angle quite steep so I'm going to drop the transfer case some to compensate for now. Then go with a double cardan shaft to fix it proper later on.
Gotcha.
YJs are pretty short. Rough country kit came with a T case drop spacer and new bolts. That'll probably straighten it out getting that angle down. You'll like it once its not rattling your fillings out. Then you'll have to get taller tires. Maybe not HAVE to, but you'll WANT to.

No shame in a case drop. Those factory skid plates are an anchor though. Where are you wheeling DJ?
Mainly log roads while hunting and mountain rides, nothing crazy. I don't think the drop will be an issue that way. Just worry about causing issue with the front DS.

Whats your pinion angle look like? Sometimes on lifted vehicles it helps with driveline vibration if you use angled shims on the leaf spring pads if thats what you have. Could be a cheaper option
Pinion is 8°, transfer case 5°, drive shaft 18. I have considered trying shims.

Yup hopefully that's all it'll take. Bigger tires will happen after I use up these 235's.

The YJ "spacer" was just 2 pieces of 1" square tubing they drilled holes in for the new bolts to go through. I havent checked any angles, since it ran out smooth.

That's basically all I'm doing. I'm gonna start with 3/4" and see how that works then I'll add another plate if need be. I'm glad to hear yours worked out well. Gives me hope... LoL
