I think its the "program" the wife put us in. Auto fill. Then there is Will Call.
some places offer that but i deal with a small family owned company
call on monday delivered by wednesday
or so on but only a day or so unless completely out then they bring it immediately
last company i had setup for moms it could be a week or more even when called in at 20 percent like they say to
they didnt last too long before they was told to come get tank or they would need a winch to get it

Ok, not that vintage....hold on.
Soft clipping opamps are close but modern digital is closer For that mater. You can program class c digital pulsing amps to lose gain as they approach saturation therefore compressing not clipping sine waves. Old school non tubes just used negative feedback opamps to attempt the same function but in reality a transistor still has a linear gain as it approaches saturation and therefore will always clip at some point

Good evening men. It was a great day to be outside. Started out at -6 but was up to 20 by noon and not a cloud in the sky. Cut and split a little wood and then had some lunch. Had to hillbilly the grill over the fire, snapped off the post trying to get it over the pit. Good thing it was empty!
