My old go-to gas station for ethanol free 91AKI unleaded is actually quite a trip for me. I usually would stock up when I was out that way, but lately I'm going out to that area less and less.

I found a gas station right around the corner from me the other day that sells ethanol-free gas, but it's 100AKI leaded gas.

So I did some research and it would seem that since there is no oxygen sensor or cat on my OPE it is POSSIBLE to run this gas. On the other hand I realize the reason we moved away from leaded gas is that the exhaust fumes are a neural toxin and terrible for the environment.

Just want to hear some feedback... for pursuing non-Ethanol gas sources is it a step forward or backwards to go to the high octane leaded gas in a chainsaw?

I often run 100ll for a few reasons, no ethanol, it's stable for long periods and I can get it close by.
Not sure whether I should be concerned with the lead or not, it's 'low lead' after all, would be if I ran it every day though.

Evidently there has been a slow ongoing push toward unleaded fuels for planes, there are some currently available but people are leary of it.
One of these is Swift fuels 94ul that is supposed to be pretty close to the same formulation as 100ll minus the lead.
I'd switch over in a heartbeat if I could get it.
Lee, you should look into it, one of the few places that has it in the entire NE area is the airport in Falmouth, probably where you get the 100ll.

Don't mean to rub it in but I have 3 stations with e free gas within 5 mins
I wish it was like that around here.

Last time I was in NH over the summer I filled a bunch of cans up. Still have a couple gallons left. Not worth makin a trip up there just for the gas tho. 130 miles one way

X2 with Jake, I use 89 e10 with stihl ultra or red armor. Long as I keep fresh fuel in the tank I have no problems. If the saws are gonna sit I but a gallon of the pre-mixed 94 vp and call it good.
got to have a good can also if the gas is exposed to air it will sour faster and attract moisture.

The closest I could find, excluding airports for 100LL, was in Lyme NH.
