Was wondering if the newest version of the Husqvarna 562xp is good to go now? No hot start issues, no running issues, holding up well?

I was actually going to ask this same question soon. Figured some people must have some fair runtime on the mk2 by now. Esp from tree service guys and loggers. They’ll put them thru some abuse.

I used to be a huge 562xp fan but lost confidence in them. Would really like to hear that Husqvarna fixed the potential issues on them with their new mark 2 version and they are rock solid saws now. No one has chimed in saying that though...

There can't be anything wrong with them. Started out as the perfect computer-designed saw, and has been reworked at least 30 times since release.

Actually, I'm sure most work fine, but they've stung me too often to give them much time of day.

I think a major problem with the 5 series saws is the fact that you have to take it to the dealer if it needs to be reset or you need to replace Autotune parts. Compared to the Stihl Mtronic which the user can reset themselves in the field.

That’s my biggest issue with them. And every dealer is different. Some aren’t very accommodating. But when they run good they sure do run good.

My dealer doesn’t have the hookups for the Huskies. He is a full service dealer, but they don’t have the stuff to do the AT huskies. The shop manager said they had to choose between buying the Stihl software/hardware or the Husqvarnas and they sell 4:1 Stihl/Husky. The either sell farm/ranch or 395s. Their orange display gets smaller everytime I’m in there!

All my Mark-1 Husky auto tune saws run great 550-562-572-565, but getting them there ( besides the 562 that I bought new ) was a bit of a chore. If there is any issue that the software can not tune out/around it will not run well or even sometimes start. It is amazing how sensitive the perimeters are, just going from a 70 degree day at home elevation to a temp of 40 at hunting cabin at 400-500 more elv they will not be happy for the first min. But once you know how to learn them in to a new environment there is no issues. I believe that is why they respond so well to porting and muffler mods. I have the software so I can factory reset and see what the issue maybe but can not flash an upgrade. IMO I think Husky will except that they will have to give open access to the customer in the next gen or 2 and it will be a bluetooth deal through your phone. Maybe we will have to pay to buy the app at the worst.

Even before the MK II, I think Husqvarna had resolved most of the issues with the earlier models with exception to the crank bearings. The biggest change with the MK II over the previous iteration of the MKI was deleting the crank stuffers and putting in a dished piston (probably trying to address the bearing issues). The crank bearing issue could have been largely remedied if folks just put more oil in their gas, but we all know people get hurt feelers when you start talking about that topic.

I’m pretty happy with the 562 mark 2, had it almost a year now. IMG_1972.jpegIMG_1975.jpeg After cutting hole in top cover for foam filter I never had any hot start issues with the mark 1IMG_1948.jpegI have had 14 auto tune saws, I’ve never had to take one back to the dealer. Still have my first 550, I think it’s a 2016 (?) still runs fine, other than hot start issues. No bearing issues, ever.
Mostly all ran on echo red armor at 40:1. All had at least a muffler mod, about 1/2 of them have been ported.

I bought a 562 when they first came out and ran the hell out of it for some time. Never had on single issue.
I also back in those days ran 32:1 mostly and occasionally heavier if the load called for it.

The hardware kit to plug huskies in is $125, stihls is like 700 or something crazy. I charge 15 a piece to update or plug in so it doesn’t take long to pay for kit. A good dealer should certainly be able to!

Only dealers have access to this though correct?
