New to milling

[XP for Life]

This is my new to me fully restored 2094 barn find. Meteor piston and dual ported. Have some white oak ready to Mill. I look forward to getting started and learning along the way. I've been reading the Milling section of OPE for better than a year while my Saw was being built. I'm sure I'll have questions/comments as I get going.

I currently have a 28" Sugihara on there now. That may change down the road if I get into bigger wood. The 28" bar will handle the bulk of what I will be milling for now. I have been bucking with this saw to break it in before I start milling. Runs like a dream so far.

Nice saw. I mill with my ported 2094. It handles a 42" bar quite well. Good to see someone else with one as there doesn't seem to be a lot out there.

That's awesome !! There is not a lot of them out there. Have you owned yours as original or did you find yours like I found mine ? Great saw. Having a blast with it

I got mine from a gentleman in Nova Scotia. He ported it for torque for me. It was very lightly used when I got it. The original owner had a hard time starting it. It has no de-comp and took some getting used to as to start it. I've had some other very nice big saws but this one is by far my favorite. Just my personal preference.

Where you at in Michigan? I grew up in Charlotte. I've had my Dad send me a few saws from back there.

I'm in Houghton Lake. I have 15 acres connected to state land. It's an awesome setup. I go thru Charlotte on a regular basis as my job takes me all over several states. Nice story in your saw. Mine came out of West Virginia of all places. It was sorry looking and broke down. My brother who is also a forum member rebuilt it for me from the ground up.

Saws are like children, they all act differently.

Saws happened it looks like. Is it hard to find saws on the big island ?? I know there is a lot of wooded area, just never think about Hawaii as a milling destination. You have an amazing array of saws. I like that Sachs Dolmar. That is a wood eater. Mastermind it, look out !!

There's a few guys that take down trees and then mill the wood and sell it. Some of the monkey pod trees are so big the branches are at my max size. I rarely see any saws for sale out here that I would want to buy. Conversely, if I post anything other than a Stihl for sale I get no interest. Put a MS 250 up and I'll get ten replies.

Yea, that 120si is a deceptively strong saw. I was fortunate to buy it.
