Need Help With an Orphaned Grinder in British Columbia

So it's a long and funny/agonizing story but the meat of it is that I bought a Pro-Sharp in excellent condition from a gentleman in BC, Canada. I thought we had a plan in place to get it picked up by a local who I "know" through a friend of a friend type situation.
After the deal was done and the seller has the cash, well...the guy who was supposed to pick up the grinder and deliver it to his buddy here in the US, flaked out on me.

I am looking for somebody who can facilitate getting this grinder either to me or to the next link in the delivery chain, who can mail it to me.

The seller is an old man and the nearest shipping/packaging type store is more than an hour from him and he is unwilling to take it there, he is only willing to deliver locally in person. Also postage from Canada was quoted to us at $565.00 US. The same postage from just south of the border is less than $80.00

I am willing to pay/trade/whatever for whoever can help out on this.

Thanks for the offers guys, still figuring out what to do.
Hope has a post office but not a pack and ship facility, and this thing is big and heavy it has two electric motors.
The seller wants no part of packaging or shipping it and made that clear from the outset.

I am at the right side of that map. I travel across the line for parts and such a few times a year. I could make arrangements to take it across the line and ship. I am not down in Hope often. Friends and family are through there occasionally though.
