I am looking at getting an "entry level" Pro Back blower. "(Stihl, of course)

But, an Echo 580 popped up a few miles from me for $225.00

Any thoughts on the Echo?

I have one and for entry level it’ll do anything you want it to. It starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull every time. Never an issue in 4-5 years now

I would take an echo or redmax blower over a Stihl any day of the week.

I would take the echo. They are the most dependable saws I have.
Echo makes very reliable power equipment.
One thing to remember with the new equipment, I always open the muffler and make sure it can breath. I think that needs done no what brand you buy.

I'd jump on the Echo if you think it's a good deal. I've used Echo blowers and trimmers for 20 yrs and have been very pleased. I could buy Stihl but I honestly think Echo has them beat in the lawn equipment department. Heck, maybe in the chainsaw department too...lol.

I have an echo 770 one up from the 580. I like it coming from a stihl br550. I want a bigger one now though and the last thing I would want it to open the muffler up on an already loud machine that’s at w.o.t. Almost all the time.

True about noise I agree as long as it doesn’t have the cat in the muffler I agree. had a hand held blower with restricted muffler burned piston due to heat.

I’ve got the Echo 910. A friend gave it to me as a housewarming gift. It’s been flawless! Lots of power, large fuel tank and is awfully light weight for its power. The one caveat I have is the noise. Not so much the amount of noise but the frequency the engine runs at is grading to listen to. I always wear earpro but it’s still an awful noise.
