me..... i would just run it in some big wood, then decide if you want more. That is a nice saw.....I sure wish i had one like that

Haven't seen a 288 that clean since the mid 90s when i used 1 to fell and X cut some old Willows . They sounded wonderful Pinging and Tinging at Idle.

I could never get emotionally attached to a chain saw. Mine even get dirty and spend the night alone in the cold truck parked in the yard.

Put a NOS high top filter on it, put a NOS full wrap handle on it, put a new Tsumura light and tough bar on it, wax it, wrap it in a blanket, drive it to the woods, take it out of the blanket and set it on a stump of a tree you cut with a different saw, take more picures of it "playing pretend" and post them on the interweb.

When I get one that nice, I am going to laser etch the porter's avatar on top of the cylinder. Sweet saw.... gives me wood.

Muffler is not what I'm used to seeing on these. Aftermarket or maybe a Brazilian manufactured saw?
If you get it ported, use another p&c and save the original so it can be changed back to stock...
