Did Mike make that??? That is really slick!
Yes. Mike @Canadian farm boy made the elbows and the choke levers. He's quite a craftsman and put a lot more work into them than shows.

I do believe that they added some umph to this saw. Kinda like a little tunnel ram.

Good eye.

Cedar and I believe 10". Closest think to pine I have down. I find its only a tick faster to cut than hardwood because it loads up the chain more, you wouldn't think that but it's true-especially with picco.

Chain is picco, square filed by Mike (Canadian Farm Boy).
Time for some cottonwood for that Lil chip ripper

I believe 026's and early 260's were 44mm.
Not sure exactly when they went to 44.7mm.

Yep, I've got a ms260, it had a/some 44mm p&c then I got a 44.7. I put it on and took it off. It did not run right, I had no clue what I did wrong so I put the old 44 back on, and now I'm keen to have a go porting this 44.7 f-tec thing and setting the squish etc...:clap2:
So this is the sort of thread I needed to help me.

You'd be correct Jeff.

I'm not sure on the year it changed. I was told that they went to 44.7 because of EPA rules choking down power. The increased displacement was supposed to balance that out.

The 44.7 saws say 50cc and not 49cc on the tank label. They also have a small heat shield between the jug and the exhaust gasket that the 44mm lacked.

Sometime shortly after 2002, best as I can tell from reading tech bulletins from Media Cat but no serial number cutoff .
