The 395 is an AWESOME saw probably my favorite Husky. On my list when I find the right one again.
But the 088 and 880 are really in a category all there own ,its quite a difference with power when your using bars over 36" - 60" . I think the mistake that most people make is that a 24" bar really isn't going to do the 7 cube saws justice, after all my 044 is probably faster then my 066 with a 24" but not a 36".
I'm milling with the 395xp, but I wouldn't mind trying an 880/881. I only chose the 395xp because I got a nice discount on it when I was buying my tractor. If the dealer had an 880 sitting on the shelf I would have gone home with that. If the Chinese 880 ever comes out I would be willing to try it. How do the guys that port saws feel about the Chinese saws?

Most of them do not like them because the quality is not as good as OEM, and often the transfers are not as good so they may need much more work.

Also, if you stand behind your work, you want a jug with top notch plating. The AM cylinders (with few exceptions) are not as good as OEM.

In a nut shell, if you are going to do extensive work on a cylinder (on a professional basis), you want to start with the best product available.

That said, some folks have been able to make AM cylinders run quite well. The plating is often thinner and softer, and it is a lot cheaper to learn on AM cylinders. HL Supply used to sell the $20 "door buster" MS-460 jug. I used one (with a Meteor piston) and sold it to a homeowner for firewood cutting.

He loves it, and it runs stronger than a stock 461. So far, the only thing that went wrong, is it ate a decomp (but not while running, so the P+C are still good).

I may still buy an 880 for a toy. But I decided if I ever need to go bigger than 44" I'm going to just do a double ended bar between the 661 and 660.

Did I miss something :(
Usually when companies realease a new product, they send stuff out to testers, and the dealers. They all have to keep it secret.... until xxxx date.
So we have Walt, afleetcommand doing a unboxing on YouTube,

this eve I look on farmatec website and find on the page of the compleat saw repair kits. But it leads to a “not found page “

so was I to late or am i to early?

They just added the link to the 880 parts kit. It wasn't there yesterday when I checked.
