So this guy checks everything, says the coil is a bit small for the saw, then says he can’t tune it because it’s got a limited coil on it then .

then proceeds to put a coil on , says about some coils work and some don’t. And if you want an unlimited coil take it to a guy who knows @ around 1hr 14

but I thought they came with an unlimited coil, because the add on farmatec website says so, I guess they could have fitted the wrong one and it’s the same as a 361 coil iirc

I,m not saying this guy don’t know his stuff. I'm just finding it hard to watch him, without skipping 10 or 20 sec or more. I just found it tedious watching the screws put in one by one

the muff modding seemed like, ok, then he changed his mind

well the bark box and the max flow with the coil he changed certainly woke it up

Maybe they put a limiter on the holzforma saws to "limit" the amount of warrantied saws. Haha. I doubt any of the repair kits come with a limited coil.

Maybe it was a duff coil from the factory, the guy said he couldn’t tune it above 10.5k . He never did say what he tuned it to with the new coil.

I actually remember this really well. The 888 is an limited coil from factory. People on the group got into a uproar. Then farmertec, a few months later said they'll be releasing an unlimited coil that can be purchased separately. But I remember that they said it would void the warranty.

So yes they did probably put a limited coil on it to lower chances of failures.

I get it China is in our country to stay..what I don't get is, patents seem to only apply and have any legal weight if you are a legitimate corporation... Use the chinese and backdoor a product for 10% of the one you shamelessly copied and the world loves you.

Well these patents are dead. I mean it's nice having patents expire. That's why you have multiple companies of AC, Automobiles, pretty much everything that is manufactured by different companies to promote market competition. It's one of the ways to prevent a company from monopolizing items. So "backdoor" isn't the right way to say that. It's capitalisms, no one bats an eye at this if it any other country except China. When it's China everyone looses it.

EDIT: I take that back, it was like this with Japan back in 80s and early 90s. Yet now people seek out Japanese made items for "Quality".

China is just as capable of great quality as well. This past month I've been delving into some of my firearm related items. Mainly Optics and Nightvision, a lot has changed after 6 years. Chinese scopes. I'm talking $500+ are outperforming some US based companies in both glass quality and tracking compared to US based or German/swiss based companies, one model of which I'm thinking of ordering for a hunting rifle.

Nightvision.
We as the US haven't owned the night since the 90s, But now it's became obvious the world is right on our heels, I found Chinese glass manufactures with glass and coating quality that blows current generation mil-spec out of the water. Image tubes in production by the Chinese that are of omni vi and skirting vii level. (Although I have yet to see any for sale here conus only complete units)

The best example of this quality and design capability is the COTI. (CLIP ON THEMAL IMAGER.)

An overlay system for NVDs that cast thermal images over your Nightvision. The original unit was an OK and effective model. However the Chinese came in and made a model. Not following the same design besides it's purpose. IT has a higher refresh rate, better modes, longer distance, larger image casting, and better quality image.

This model was called the Jerry-C it was also capable of utilizing CR123 or 18650 batteries with a simple change of battery cap. All for 5k when the original coti was still selling for 8k+. Then Optics 1 (manufacture of the coti) Came out with the E-coti and dropped the price of the original coti to 3k.

But they still failed to meet requirements the Jerry-C filled.
Mainly OPTICS 1 went to a proprietary battery.
The thermal sensor still wasn't better than the Jerry-C

The only thing they added that was useful was the built in compass.
While still not competing with the Jerry-C selling it for 8K+

Added photos of the dual tube housing that was Chinese made and it's quality is on par with the US made gear.

Also China isn't all state ran businesses like people think Maybe they get tax reductions or some funding but so do we from our own government. Only one I can think of that's state ran off the top of my head is their motorcycle industry. Which if you look into it, they manufacture a lot of bikes in China only for their own market which put what they export to shame as far as reliability or power.
