He's not getting stock. I'm gonna mod mine too while I'm at it. Plus, he'll never know if he doesn't try it. We're not gettin crazy here. Just building him a reliable high powered work saw.

I think with a 20 on it, if ported right, it'll spin 8 or 9 teeth all day. You'd have to have an aggressive chain to stall mine with a 20" bar. It'll pull a buried 36" with 8 teeth

What is the reasoning behind intake side of transfers opening 6-7 degrees before exhaust? Strictly flow?

I realize the angle of the cylinder and everything when mounted, but this has to be by design? Perhaps not?

It is so the initial burst of fresh charge is pushed to the intake side, which rounds up more of the spent charge and pushes it out the exhaust.

This reduces charge dilution and aids in making more power.

The more spent charge you can force out with minimal mixing with fresh charge will result in more fresh fuel and air in the motor each time.

That means a bigger bang and more power.

Cut .010-.015 from chamber, .027-.032 from the base.

How about evening up the transfers or leaving them be?

I think you should go 20 from the chamber 37 from the base should put you around 80-81 on the intake 98 99 on the exhaust then just raise the transfers 1mm. I would flatten them but have never tried to keep them angled. I know Joey and Al have tried it.
