If the 372 is the predecessor to the 572 then where does the 576 fit in the timeline?
Under the tractor tire.

I’m really sorry to hear this Randy. It’s amazying how some dogs are more than just a “dog.” I often think of my buddy....it’s been a long time since he passed. Hang in there.Crushed her hips, broke her back. I had to put her down. She was one of those one in a million sorta dogs. I've been in a very bad place to be honest.

Still hatin.Another tidbit for the Husky fans. The 390XP and 372XP mufflers last about 3 - 4 months in the woods. Then they start falling apart.
so. Now you’ve got my attention. You do homeowner models? I like my toast done just before it’s time to flip my eggs. Pm me with price and turnover timeframe. Good to hear you’re eatin a little cake boss. Lil hear n there my manIt's the business I'm in. I'd port a toaster for a price.
Heaf you hadn’t bought a tractor tire lately I would hate to ruin a good tire.
dang sorry I missed ya phone don’t pick up half the time at home. I made chips out of that pecan. All of those crotches would have given it a good workout. You wouldn’t with a 576.
They make good chocks.
P.S.,
I called earlier cause I made it back from Mississippi & was looming to run a MAC.

Even some of the best stihls have them too.
I've got a serious pileup on my bench since I took almost two weeks off.......then ran over my dog. Yeah......I'm a little depressed about that.
As soon as I get a free spot I'll pull these things apart and post some pics. But......both saws have been undressed in threads on this forum.....so you can see them without me posting.
I'm sure there are plenty of less than quality mufflers out there.I just happened to order a new one for a 372 and I wish the old one wasn't damaged so bad, I'd just reuse it instead of the soup can I paid $30 for.
So, I'm holding a muffler for a saw that costs $750 new and looking at the muffler on a saw that costs $300 new and saying WTF. Don't get me wrong, I love the 372 and my other Husky's, just ain't impressed by that new muffler.
Another factor for me is humidity with salt. I'm really close the sea. This muffler is already showing signs of rust in the bolt hole recesses and it hasn't been out of the house yet.![]()
Great info in this thread Moobs. Can’t wait to see inside.
Looks like Mcculloch had their stuff down. Most of their designs look like they were already ported. Nice wide bands and ports that swooped just right.
The 261 is a phenomenal saw, but it’s the same size as an 036.
Still trying to wrap my head around the 462 nomenclature. Shoulda been a “442” in actuality by displacement. Woulda been a cool muscle car reference as well.
Am I mistaken in that 440/441 were 72cc and 460/461 77cc?

Hate to say it Joe but couldn’t agree more my friend they were a turdAgreed, I had to work on a MS 280 this past January, I honestly cannot fathom WTF the Germans were thinking when they designed that big steamy turd.
You are correct my friend, the 440/441 were 72cc while the 460/461 were 77cc and the 462 is 70cc. This could be a potential land mine for Stihl as the average consumer are going to look at the model number and assume it is a direct replacement for their older nearly 80cc saw. If the 462 doesn't at least match the 460/461 for "lean on" torque i could see a lot of disappointed customers back at the dealer calling it a dud.
LMFAO HeathUnder the tractor tire.
Seems to me, that would be a good upgrade you could make and sell after finishing all those toasters. It's not that anyone is that hard on them. They are a *s-wordty weak ass design. I see it all the time.
Agreed. Pretty much the answer I was thinking on the 576 @PA DanUnder the tractor tire.
