MS270 PC on an MS271?

Has anyone ever tried converting an MS271 backward to the MS270 piston & cylinder? Someone burned up their saw, and there is nothing AM I have found for the 271, but lots for the 270. As is, they are not willing to spend the money to buy an OEM replacement cylinder. I appreciate any help with this!

Go OEM or forget it. The MS 271 has a stratified scavening engine and the MS 270 not. Bore and stroke are also different.

If I remember correctly the 271 is on on the same chassis as the 291. If buying new parts I'd be looking for the upgrade.
