Passed press n vac. Runs. Maybe all it needed was the tab trimmed off the L. I didn’t replace anything in the carb, didn’t have gaskets. Diaphragm questionable. Still tunes a little weird on the L, never gets blubbering stalling fat. Can’t add in idle speed…so maybe still a slight lean condition. View attachment 373293

I think I got something wonky with the AV mounts. All I did was remove and reinstall the screws but one is proud and one is deep. 🤦🏻‍♂️View attachment 373292View attachment 373294
Question: did you Vac test first, before Press testing?

I tried but had to pressure first to find my setup leaks.
You probably know this then, but pressure first can sometimes “help” a failing seal seat again, thus providing a false vac test immediately after.. You might still have a crank seal issue..

Maybe but I doubt it. After getting into it, saw is pretty new and I think he keeps it inside so dried up seals are unlikely…unless something went awry behind the clutch. I didn’t pull it.

Any thoughts on the silly AV mounts?

I don’t have any thoughts on the AV mounts. However, I had a brand new MS211 that didn’t hold a tune a while back. Ended up being crank seals - brand new! Nothing looked wrong with them either. Replaced them and it held a tune and ran great.

Yeah, the silly AV mounts just kinda go wherever they want until you locate/press/pull them slightly below flush, tighten the screws and install the plugs.

Oh...maybe the plug swells the rubber and locks them into position. Duh. I knew it was gonna be duh.

Haha. Yeah that's it. Not really a great design IMHO. If it makes you feel better I usually get the saw completely assembled...only to find one of the AV mounts isn't quite right. Lol 😏
