Does anyone have the stock ms170 timing numbers, I've timed the one I have a couple of times and I keep coming up with around 60 for the intake. Here's the numbers I got,

EX 104
TR 130
IN 60

Never mind, I measured everything and put them into a port timing calculator and I was pretty close with those numbers.

I know this is an older thread, but I just timed mine. I bought this 170 super cheap for possibly going to sawfest 2023. My factory timing numbers are below. This is with factory piston.

Intake 60
Ex 110
Transfers 132

I am not sure where I am going to take it yet. I don't have a way to do the transfers. Probably nothing crazy.

If not mistaken ms170 has open transfers like an ms250. The could be raised, widened with a dremel.
I was just cleaning my wife's ms170 and pulled the carb and compared it to a spare ms250 carb. The carb is nearly identical with the exception of the throttle linkage and of coarse the H and L adjustment. A brass plug on the front of the ms250 carb needs to be drilled out for proper impulse alignment.

I'm kinda Leary of modifying my wife's saw though. Lol. Anyway, glad you posted the port timing numbers*. Was always curious.
