Saw is 5 years old and the oroginal 24" bar was pretty beat up so I got a new one since I was told it was cutting to the right, a real C cut.
Haven't really used that saw in a while and everyone seems to be filing it different so yes, the chain is not in good shape. Different cutter lengths, different angles.
I used it for a couple hours this morning till I lost my patience with the C curve and ditched it for another saw which cuts straight.
My question is this. 3 years ago I used this 391 to flush cut stumps for about 2 weeks. Ever since then I've noticed the springs didnt seem to be as strong or rigid as before. So today even when I was trying to cut straight the handle and the saw itself just wasnt rigid. I try to keep the saw straight but I just end up moving the handle and the saw and bar do their own thing.
Could these springs be part of the problem?
Open to advice. Thanks.
