I recently bought a new ms391., the 2nd time I adjusted the chain the adjuster seemed to have jammed up threads.. It was placed under warranty. It has now done it again. This saw has less than a gallon of gas run through. Does Stihl have a problem with these adjusters or do I just have bad luck?

I saw that aeolian wrote this may be operator error. I disagree. Yes, you can turn the adjuster clockwise too far, and run the adjuster off the end of the adjuster screw or strip it but I don’t consider that operator error; I consider that engineer error.

It would have been very simple to prevent to adjuster from travelling off the end of the adjuster screw or stripping out. The engineers, in their infinite wisdom, just failed to do it.
