Ms 261 mtronic no spark

I have rebuilt this 261 and I had problems with it idling. Wot was fine. Tried a reset and it didn’t help. I bought a white solenoid orange fuel filter kit. Pressure and vac tested. But now it won’t start. There is no spark at the plug when I hold the plug against the jug and pull it over. What coil do I need for this? Can the mtronic control units be tested like this?

any knowledge/tips would be appreciated

This is general info, but sometimes it helps to be reminded. Look at all the pins in the sockets to be certain none have been pushed out, deformed or the like. Make sure its really all plugged up and not just hanging on. Stuff like that.

Sometimes If I don’t trust that I’m making enough contact putting the plug on the cylinder I’ll put a tester light between the wire and plug. I just had to do that on a 462. Coil was good, carb diaphragms were deformed.

But your coil looks first generation Mtronic. Definitely suspect.
